I just discovered that Kim Werker, the editor of Crochet Me, a fab online crochet magazine, has come out with a new book: Teach Yourself Visually: Crocheting. I am going to recommend this to you sight unseen for two reasons:
- Kim rocks, and I can’t imagine she would put out a bad crochet book.
- It’s from the same series of book as the one that I’m using to teach myself to knit, and I have very few complaints about that book so far.
Should you know any crocheters, this would probably make a lovely reference gift for them . . . ahem. Certain crocheters might also appreciate The Happy Hooker; I however, have already preordered that. 🙂 I digress. Knitters, you might be interested to know that the table of contents for Kim’s book includes a section on “Crocheting for Knitters.”
Anyway, if you follow the title link for Kim’s new book it’ll bring you to her blog post about the book, where she includes info on a 15% discount if you order directly from the publisher. I don’t know how long that discount will last, though.
*EDIT 1/7: There’s also a good deal available at Amazon, with Super Saver Shipping in case you’ve got your eye on something else. Like, I don’t know, maybe the Happy Hooker.*
Thank you so much for your enthusiastic recommendation! I hope the book delivers!
