Zipcar

Zipcar is one of the best ideas ever. I heard about it a while ago (probably when they first came to Boston) but never signed up becuase I seem to remember that it was more expensive than it is now. They’ve expanded quite a bit, which has probably helped get their rates down.

Anyway, Simmons has partnered with Zipcar to offer current students, staff and faculty a discount on the annual membership. So I’ve been thinking more seriously about signing up, and I finally did today. With all the planning I’ve been doing for Jill’s wedding (May 20!!) and related events (showers, bachelorette, etc) I think it will come in handy to be able to drive myself wherever I need to go and back in a day, without having to rely on people getting me to and from the commuter rail or whatever. Cool!
Not to mention that I can now go to Target without having to take the bus . . . uhoh . . .

  1. That sounds awesome! Like a typical Midwesterner, I don’t know what I would do without a car (especially because public transportation around here is awful). Good luck blocking your wrap; I think I’m just going to have to convince myself that the Moebius looks fine and wear it out anyway 🙂

  2. THANKS FOR THE HAT! i wore it out the door today because i could hear from my apartment that it was very windy outdoors, and thus figured i’d need a hat. but it’s actually around 55 degrees out, so i didn’t wear it.

now i’m going to look into zipcar again myself.
