I really loved the idea of the Snap Previews when WordPress introduced them, but recently started to get annoyed by them when surfing blogs at home – my connection (despite being an expensive Comcast setup) is slow, so I have to wait for the little previews to load. I know it is a vast improvement over dial up, but I guess I have been spoiled by the super-fast response of the connection on campus. I’m convinced Comcast has oversold their bandwidth in my neighborhood. Anyway, all that is to say that I have disabled the feature here.

In addition, there appears to be a cookie-based way to block them (spotted on not martha) in case they are driving you up the wall on sites you read.

  1. I really liked the Snap Previews at first also – they’re a local company and good people, so I wanted to support them. But the fact that not everyone has a fast connection had escaped me… Yeah, I’m spoiled that way too.
