Cars

So, there is a possibility that I will have to buy a car for whatever post-library school job I wind up with. Interviewing is going well so far, and so I have started to think about this and look into it. I would love to hear any feedback or opinions you can offer on recent-model-year cars, especially hybrids if you have experience with them. I will mainly just be transporting myself, and will not need lots of cargo room; I am interested in getting good gas mileage and driving something that’s safe. Also, think affordable. šŸ™‚ Thanks in advance!

  1. Alison, check out my WP blog for information on our dealer group. We sell Nissan, Hyundai, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler… the Nissan Altima Hybrid is pretty hot right now, and the Hyundai products are getting amazing reviews. I’d be happy to have any of my Internet Consultants give you a rundown of their respective product lines and set you up with some options.

After you’ve done your surfing you can contact me, the Internet Director for the group, personally at http://jelmac.wordpress.com/contact-us/.

  2. Steph bought a fairly new used Honda Accord back in the spring. It’s not a hybrid, but it does get really good gas mileage.

Personally I have a thing for little hatchbacks – Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa. Little cars, but since they’re hatchbacks you can fit a lot of stuff in ’em if you need to. Not that I drive one šŸ™‚

  3. Corolla, Corolla, Corolla – seriously, I’m on my third one and they never disappoint. Don’t buy brand-new, get a “certified pre-owned” one that’s 2 years old. I’d also consider the Yaris or the Fit.

  4. I love love love my subaru. It’s not a hybrid, but it does wonders in seriously inclement weather. If you find yourself up north or out west with your fabulous new job mastering the universe, get this one with a winter package–heated seats and heated windshield wipers, yah baby! Oh, and go at the end of the month when the sales reps need to make their quotas and bargain like it’s your last dollar. Happy Hunting.
