Cherry Blossom Weekend

Just a couple of short weeks ago I went into DC for the National Cherry Blossom Festival. I saw some friends I hadn’t seen in quite a while and enjoyed a great weekend full of beautiful weather (well, except the part where I got caught in a torrential downpour in Baltimore and had to buy new shoes once I arrived in DC) and grand times.

I also got to play with my D40 some more, which was really great. I am super glad that I bought a second lens when I bought the kit, as I used it quite a lot that weekend. Overall I am still super happy with my camera and having tons of fun with it. I’m learning a lot more when I’m out taking photos and then home looking through them than I am when I try to read stuff about photography online. (Tonight it’s coming with me to roller derby, which I’m sure will give me a workout in figuring out how to shoot people moving at a high speed.) A few of the photos I took in DC are below; click through for a bunch more on Flickr.
