August’s theme was “Beauty Schooled.”
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer – Primers go under the rest of your makeup to help keep it in place, and minimize the appearance of large pores, fine lines and the like. I do not use this type of primer regularly – it’s one more step that I don’t care to integrate into my daily routine. But, I will give this a try when I do Full Glam at an upcoming wedding.
Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Nutrient Dense Anti-Aging Lip Conditioner in Mandarin Green Orange Ginger – Mongongo is a type of oil derived from a fruit. This smelled fruity and felt fine. I tucked it in my bathroom drawer at Handsome’s so I don’t have to dig through my purse for a lip balm at the end of the night. (As a side note, I find it interesting that a product billed as “anti-aging” and produced by a sunscreen company has no SPF.)
J. Cat Beauty Flying Solo Eye Shadow in Half Naked – I was disappointed to receive this – of the four eyeshadows I’ve gotten from Ipsy, three have been nudes. This is nice enough but as with the nude eyeshadow I received in the last bag, it disappears on me. The part of the container with the shadow in it pops up to reveal a tiny mirror and even tinier sponge applicator. A nice touch, but I’m not convinced it’d actually be useful.
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – I don’t really use dry shampoo – my hair can handle being washed daily. However, I’ve heard good things about this product so I’m interested to try it. I only wish my bag had arrived a day or two earlier, as I would have had a perfect opportunity to try it out during a weekend away.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – The brush on this looks like it would do a nice job of getting a good amount of product on quickly, which the other mascara I have (also from Ipsy) doesn’t seem to do. I will also test this out next time I do Full Glam.
